Downsizing
When I got started I was on my own, all by myself
A little surly, I admit, but I do mean well
And over time I collected them to me
Now all I want is for us all to be Free!
And now I'm organizing things in my Downsizing Party Tent
And Every Day I think "Oh where the HELL has the Time went!?!"
Every night there are spaceships, up above my house!
And I think: "What the Hell is This? I have to get OUT!"
No, I'm not afraid of them, not at all you see
They seem completely harmless, maybe even Friendly
I will never be a minimalist
But I have to Downsize THIS.
The Little Yellow House is the precursor to an RV
So, I really needed the Space
I love AM Radio
Shells and sparkly stones
And little things made of Yarn
Porcelain Rose, Chip of Bone
No matter where I go, I want to save them ALL
Our Wedding Rings, Letters, and Childhood things
Oh, I want to save the Portal that you made for the Door
Oh, and So I want to save Every Shirt that you Wore
Can I be brave and make it through this Time of Memento Mor-i
And find a way to Celebrate the Times of Our Lives, Before
I think I can, so I Downsize some more...
I save one of your Pet Rocks
And I save some of your Comic Books
Oh, I want to save Everything Forevermore
Oh, but I can't, I'm like that Thing on The Wind in the Door
You know The One
Oh, that thing with wings and eyes galore
Oh, I'm just a Thing that Feels, singing like Never Before
Trust me when I say, I'm gonna get this done
Then we can get on the road and you can ride Shotgun
We can travel to the Future and it will be Endless
It might take some Time but we will get the hang of this
Oh, this business of Multidimensional existence
I want to save the Night when we drove around and looked at the Lights
